Throughout my life i have seen may people get on drugs and go to programs/rehabs. Most 12-step programs do not have at all a good success rates the average for them is at least 37%. But there is another way. I know of programs at which have a success rate of at least 76%. Every day for 4 years i was using pot, cocaine, alcohol, and pills to get away from reality. It was a constant struggle for me to find the help that i needed. I destroyed the honesty i had with the people in my life that were close to me. I finally got help at a rehab that was able to work with me at my own pace. There are alot of rehabs out there that have ambition to help people, but do not have the right technology to really keep a person sober for the long run. I myself have been to differnt rehabs throughout the course of my life, trying to get sober. But there was only one place that really helped me with my problem. Because it had a high success rate, it had long-term life courses, and they got the drugs completley out of my system.

When a person goes to rehab they need to learn a lot on how to stay sober, what life is like sober, and learn on how to confront there problems that are there or will arise in the future. Any person that uses drugs will always stay with them in there fat cells. So even if a person gets sober they will still have cravings to do the drugs because it stays in there body. All twelve step programs do not treat this specific problem, because they do not have the technology to do so. There are many different kinds of addictions out there. Such as drugs, alcohol, and even addictions to gambling or even compulsive shopping! And there is a way out!! Twelve-step programs are unfortunatly not a very good source to get off of drugs or anyother kind of addiction because on average they only have a 30 something pecent success rate. Addicts need a rehab that has a higher success rate.

People who are abusing drugs or alcohol need to realize that you do not have very many choices left. Except that you will go to jail, die, or get sober; thats all there is to it no buts or whats about it!! Unfortuantly most twelve step programs do not have the technology to keep a person sober for the long run. Rehab facilities are the only businesses that I know of that are working to go out of business. They are the only company that I know of whose long term goal is to not have any income coming in. If that does not say something regarding their character then I don't know what else could possibly prove them to be amazing people.

Addiction is a horrible thing that people should not have to go through. Rehab is a way to cure someone of their addiction but I belive the way to even avoid this is to have great eduction before someone ever becoems addicted. It has been proven that DARE doesn't work actually children who have bene through teh program are at a higher rate becoming addted to drugs and alcohol then children who do not. We need to get a handle on this immediately.
